No.      GSO/SSB/01/09                                                         September 04, 2009

All concerned please note that new version Seaman Service Book (SSB) is being issued by Govt. of Pakistan since long, and most of the seamen have already acquired new SSB in place of their valid old CDC. It is being observed now that seamen who are still holding old CDC when engaged for ships by manning agents face problems while joining ships at foreign ports due to possession of old CDC.

In view of above position all seamen still holding valid old CDCs are advised in their own interest to acquire new SSB in place of their valid old CDC as per procedure at the earliest.
